The origin story
Once upon a time I was a mere Dutch country boy studying physics, who went to a dance lesson.
Then I discovered a secret: Dancing is as close to an ecstatic experience you are legally allowed to have in our society…and it’s even healthy for ya! I felt it on my first blues weekend when I danced with a lady whose language I didn’t speak. It was a magic dancing experience of connection beyond words. I was hooked!
Ever since then, I have been experimenting like a mad scientist with the essence of dancing, trying to distil the magic in my classes, for others to feel the same closeness, freedom and connection with themselves and others. You don’t stumble over your feet when you dance soul to soul. You don’t worry about the rhythm, when you are truly having fun with the music.
I want to teach people from all continents, backgrounds and with any profession how to fall in love with dancing.

My journey
I’ve always been an explorer at heart and so went into the sciences early on, yet I never “lost” connection with the more messy parts of life.
One of these was dancing, as a kid I started ballroom dancing, yet something always seemed off.
After years of ballroom dancing I conquered the fanciest things, but after a break of a year I realized something. I never learned how to dance. With all the moves forgotten and a new partner, I was left with nothing. That is when I realized that something is sorely lacking in many classes. After this I spend years of dancing and teaching to figure out what was missing and how to do it differently.
Luckily Blues Dancing and Lindy Hop came onto my path and showed me new ways of learning and enjoying dance. Since then, I’ve been getting my hands on as many dance styles as I can get. And have been helping and starting dancing scenes all over Europe and have met countless wonderful people who have helped me to sharpen my teaching and techniques.
And now I’m bringing the same magic online, join me and let’s have some fun 😉
